JTAM is published by Polish Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (PTMTS). The Publisher nominates the Journal's

At the moment of publication in JTAM, all articles are made publicly available in accordance to the open access principles. Starting from the issue 4 of vol. 61 (2023), these are the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY) license rules. By submitting an article for publication, the authors consent to the grant of the said license. The authors retain the copyright of their works without restrictions. Upon acceptance, the authors grant the publisher the right of first publication.
The journal content is indexed in Similarity Check, the Crossref initiative to prevent plagiarism.

- All papers in the Journal of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics are published online under the CC BY open access license.
- Starting from vol. 62, issue 3/2024, JTAM is published only in electronic form.
- Publication of a paper in the Journal is subject to fee. The fee is € 700 for a full length paper and € 350 for a short communication. The fee is due upon acceptance of the paper for publication by the Editorial Board.
